“I Want To Feel Better”
Briana is 23. Read a short excerpt from her pre-arrival interview before arriving for care at The Center • A Place of HOPE.
I’ve been feeling down and depressed for so long, I wonder if I will ever feel ‘normal’ again and be able to enjoy life. I feel so stuck, nervous that I will never get out of this place I’m in…I really need help but am scared that you won’t be able to help me…
I just want to feel better…and be able to go through a full day without the pain, fatigue, and numbness I am feeling…
Now read Briana’s departure interview after receiving treatment at The Center • A Place of HOPE.
I would like to first tell you that your program at the Center has changed my life. I knew I was struggling, I felt I needed help but didn’t know what help I needed. I felt stuck, alone and hopeless…I had been crying out to God for him to help me out of that place I was in for some time and I believe he answered that cry and used you and all the wonderful people at the Center.
When I arrived at the Center it was the first time in months that I felt safe, loved, and hopeful. I learned that I was suffering from depression and had more issues than I thought, but I was given so many great tools to overcome these. Thank you.
Briana Chose The Center • A Place of HOPE For help and healing
If you are suffering from depression, even the simplest daily task can seem daunting. So few people truly understand what you are going through, which can make you feel more alone. Perhaps you are also dealing with co-occurring issues like chemical or alcohol abuse, anxiety or panic attacks, an eating disorder, a physically, sexually or emotionally abusive relationship, or PTSD.
The concept of feeling good – really feeling good on a daily basis – may seem like an unattainable dream. After all, when you are hurting and in the throes of depression, even getting out of bed, showered and fed can seem overwhelming.
Have you given up on the possibility of feeling better? Not just for an hour or two, but for days and weeks on end? How about the dream of feeling balanced, productive, and happy for the foreseeable future?
The good news is there is hope. And there is true healing from depression, even severe depression, and anxiety. There are a precious few facilities in the United States that are world-renowned for the treatment of depression.
